Mike Proffitt is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has been a professional performing musician in the Hampton Roads since the early 80’s. His selection of music spans more than 4 decades and is based in the acoustic rock genre. His original recordings have gained notoriety with local radio stations and concert goers alike. He has earned awards such as 3rd Round Semi-Finalist in Musician Magazine’s 1997 “Best Unsigned Band” competition, Winner of the 1997 Tidewater Entertainer’s Association songwriter’s competition; and was the Winner of the 1999 MEONA award for Best Male Performer in the Hampton Roads area. Currently Mike is performing in the Hampton Roads area, Richmond, and Nags Head, NC. Mike can be found performing as a solo, duo, trio or full band. He has been featured as a special guest in major concert venues as the opening act for touring bands like The Doobie Brothers, REO Speedwagon, Pat Monahan of Train, Kenny Loggins, and many more.
